Sunday with my Daddy

Today I got up early and had breakfast with Daddy.  We then went to look at our sunflowers and played in the conservatory.  Daddy wanted to take some photos as he hasn't taken any for a while and I'm growing so fast its scary!  All taken at f1.8 on a Nikon 35mm lens

Today was a special sunday because we went to a church service in Verwood where the Mums and Dads went to say thanks to the nice people who ran our playgroup on Tuesdays.  They are retiring after running the group at the United Reformed Church for 30 years...wow!

The church service lasted an hour and I was very good indeed.  Churches are interesting for a while but the talking is quite heavy and Daddy didn't understand all of it!  The congregation loved having us munchkins there but one by one they got fed up and had to be taken out...I lasted until the end and lots of people came up to me to say how good I was.  They don't have to sleep with me...haaaa!  I even got invited back for a Christmas munchkin service.

Rosemary, Tony and their helpers were very grateful for the thanks and gifts we gave them.

After that we went to the church hall where the playgroup was for tea and cakes.  I immediately found the rocking horse I used to play on...wow I miss it!

I helped myself to a biscuit and ran around like crazy while I ate it.

Flowers, a hamper and a gift plaque with a rhyme for Tony and Rosemary

After that it was action at the playground

And finally a coffee and lunch with Daddy at Costa.

Our Sunflowers take a bow

Our lovely late sunflowers have finally succumbed to the weather after last night's hard frost.  One still managed to look very nice even with the frost on it.

Stourhead

We made our annual pilgrimage to Stourhead this autumn although the weather was rather dull and the colours did not seem as vibrant as we have seen before.  Its always a nice place to visit though.

We had a nice walk around the lake and then had some soup in the cafe.  I had a lot of fun with sticks like proper boys do!

The classic view...this was the 2 minutes of sun we had!!

Boys & sticks

Oops!

Having fun in the cafe
These are perhaps the last photos in which my dummy appears.  I have liked my dummy for 2 years, although I have got through several different ones actually.  I called it my "Da-Dine' and this word was often spoken as I got whingy and beyond tired!  Recently I kept taking it out more often and then I got some sharp new teeth that bit through it, so Mummy threw it away.  Bye-bye my faithful Da-dine.  Little boys have to move on as they grow up and I am certainly growing.  I have suddenly leapt from a 5 1/2 shoe to a 6 1/2 and even that is now marginal!

Holiday in Menorca

Well, things have been rather busy here, hence the late posting, but Daddy, Mummy & I had a great holiday in Menorca back in October.

It was so easy as Granddad took us to Bournemouth Airport, then after a 1 1/2 hour flight & 1 hour transfer we were in our nice hotel in Cala En Bosch at the southwest extremity of the island.  I loved the flight and kept taking Daddy to look at the plane while we were waiting.

We were lucky with the weather as we had lots of nice sun but it wasn't too hot.

Daddy only took his iPad and Fuji X10 compact camera.  It was nice to use the iPad to stay in touch with family back home.

Hibiscus around hotel

We all loved the food in the restaurant and it was very munchkin-friendly.  It even had a special section for children's food

Here I am chilling out with a drink in the apartment.  We had a lovely apartment that had a living room with kitchenette and a separate bedroom

On our first walk around I found this horse straight away outside a local mini market shop

The local beach was very nice & only a 5-10 minute walk

Funky coloured boats

I spotted this toy from the balcony and had to go ride it!  Daddy said its a seal but I'm convinced its a horse!

We hired a quadricycle to pedal around the neighbourhood...hard work for M&D!

I'm a very curious little explorer now...ruins at Fornells

Colourful shop goods in Fornells
Perhaps the highlight for me was seeing the Somni Horse show.  Daddy was a bit worried I might get tired, bored or play up, but he need not have been!  I say though 2 hours of show and was totally glued to it.  the horses were lovely  and did all sorts of exciting things.  I actually became a bit of an attraction for the audience as when the horses went out between acts I kept calling them back as I was a bit worried they were gone!  I did it rather loudly and was waving at them too.

Here are the lovely horses

Here I am with my own horse at the horse show

We hired a car for 3 days and explored the island.  Here we are on El Toro, a monastery on a high hill that gives a big view all around.  It was a bit cold and windy up there but very dramatic

Dady enjoyed finding interesting things to photograph

This is Ciutadella, the old capital.  We loved it there and had a really good look around on 2 separate visits
There is a nice harbour in Ciutadella

Busy munchkins like me need a coffee break

Beach at Sant Tomas

Daddy was happy as he found some dragonflies near the beach

Here I am exploring some cave dwellings at Cala Morell

This lighthouse was just up the road from the hotel

Here I am in hysterics with Mummy blowing bubbles for me in Ciutadella

This is the second beach close to our hotel

The nice view from our balcony
It was a nice, relaxing holiday and we would definitely go again.

Tae Kwon-Do & some other stuff

My Mummy was quite nervous about her red belt Tae Kwon-Do grading so she trained regularly to  practice everything she has learned.  Daddy went along to help with the organising, to do the warm up for those taking part and to ask theory questions.  Mummy passed and now has a lot of work to do for her black belt grading...well done Mummy!  I know its hard to train when you have to look after me.  Here are some shots Daddy took on his Fuji X10 from the questions bench.

We have all been a bit poorly recently with a flu type bug that doesn't go away.  I have been a bit grumpy and whingy, so sorry Mummy and Daddy.  We have still been going out a lot though and I have been to the Heavy Horse Centre lots of times as we have an annual pass.   I am still obsessed with horses and have to watch the Burghley Horse Trial ay least a few times a week on TV.   Daddy also takes me over the road to see the horses...last night the lady was putting their coats on.

We have also been to Moors Valley so I can run around...I was a bit sick last time I went so Daddy had to carry me out but I had fun until then.  I love puddles so I must be a proper boy!
